AIDS Memorial Quilt Panel

Project: AIDS Memorial Quilt Panel

The Project

As part of Warner Bros. Discovery Pride’s commitment to honoring LGBTQ+ lives lost to AIDS, I was asked to design a panel for inclusion in the iconic AIDS Memorial Quilt—a project that has served as a living tribute and a powerful reminder of the impact of the AIDS epidemic since 1987.

The panel was created as part of an internal remembrance initiative, aligning with the mission of The NAMES Project Foundation: to remember, to raise awareness, and to reflect love, pride, and loss through visual storytelling.

The Concept

The design centers around the word “REMEMBERS” stitched in a rainbow palette, using a cross-stitch motif to symbolize care, community, and hand-crafted remembrance. Each letter was carefully stylized to evoke the look of embroidery—linking the digital and physical worlds in a gesture of intentionality and warmth.

Framed by traditional corner motifs and a border that echoes classic quilting forms, the panel combines the Warner Bros. Discovery and Pride identities with the timeless, handmade quality of the Quilt. The result is a composition that feels both corporate and personal, formal yet deeply human.

Execution

I designed the panel digitally, creating a print-ready artwork that could be transferred onto fabric at the required 6x6 ft Quilt panel dimensions. The piece was produced in collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery’s DEI team and Pride ERG, and now lives as part of a legacy that spans generations and continues to grow.
